Drop Bottom Skips (Forklifts) are bottom-emptying skips with fork pockets, offering a more compact design than standard tipping skips. They allow waste to be easily emptied from the bottom of the bin. These skips can be positioned close to a workstation or placed in tight spaces, keeping them out of the way and preventing any obstruction in the working area.

The Eichinger 2032 Drop Bottom Skips are equipped with a heavy-duty, spring-loaded bottom floor or flap. This can be operated using the supplied pull cord or by manually pulling the lever. As the floor opens, all internal waste or material will simply slide out. This makes the bottom-opening skip, sometimes referred to as a muck-away skip, an efficient and effective solution for quickly disposing of waste. With the entire floor area opening, no materials will get "snagged" during emptying.
The BS2032 Drop Bottom Skip range, featuring both lifting points and fork pockets, is available in a variety of sizes to suit your needs. These skips offer safe working loads (SWL) of up to 2,000 kilograms and capacities ranging from 500 to 2,000 litres.

How to Set Up and Operate a Drop Bottom Skip
For Use with a Telehandler / Forklift
Set the forklift forks to the correct width to align with the skip’s lifting handles. Drive the forks into the lifting handles, ensuring the skip is positioned all the way back on the forks.
Ensure the skip is lifted so that, when discharged, the drop door opens against the truck. This prevents any debris or spoil from hitting the truck.
Once the forks are fully inserted, use the restraint chain to secure the skip to the forklift.
Caution: The restraint chain is not designed to withstand shock loads. Therefore, it should be as tight as possible to reduce the risk of snapping.
Note: The skip should always be moved around the site at a minimum safe height. It should only be lifted to its emptying height once in the immediate area where it is to be emptied.
When ready to empty the skip, lower it to the floor. Pull the release lever. Slowly lift the skip while continuing to pull the release lever. As the height increases, the load will exit the skip gradually, preventing sudden changes in load.
Once the skip is empty, slowly lower it back to the ground.
Once the door gently touches the ground, begin reversing slowly while continuing to lower the skip. This allows the door to close safely, without putting undue stress on the door hinges.
For Use with a Crane
The 2032 Drop Bottom Skip is designed for lifting with a 4-leg chain.
Ensure the skip is placed on a flat and even surface before filling. When filling, ensure the load does not exceed the stated safe working load, is evenly distributed throughout the skip, and is kept below the height of the skip’s sides.
To transport the skip, attach a suitably rated 4-leg chain to the lifting eyes, ensuring the hooks are securely closed before lifting.
Once the hooks are secure, raise the skip just off the ground and check for balance. You may now transport the skip to its required destination, adhering to your lift plan and method statement.
Ensure no one is in the discharge area. To discharge, land the skip in the discharge zone, pull the lever directly or by pulling the attached cable, and move away from the discharge zone. Slowly raise the skip while ensuring the drop-down door maintains contact with the ground to minimize any sudden movement of the load.
Ensure the skip is fully emptied, then land it on level ground to allow the door to close automatically.
CLEANING & STORAGE
Once the required work is complete, lower the skip to the designated storage location, ensuring the area is clear.
Disengage the lifting hook from the skip, and make sure the skip is clean and ready for its next use.
